Overview
The JobLine is seeking an experienced Senior Truss Designer to join an in-house design team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who values accuracy, collaboration, and long-term stability. The position is primarily in-office to support close coordination with operations, production, and sales, though limited hybrid flexibility may be considered once established. Candidates must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the local area. This position is intended to replace the senior design duties of the current Design Manager, to let the Design Manager focus on managing the department.
Job Duties
• Design roof and floor truss systems for residential, multifamily, and light commercial projects
• Produce accurate, buildable, and code-compliant designs using MiTek software or equivalent
• Collaborate closely with sales, production, engineering, and field personnel
• Review plans for constructability, compliance, and optimization
• Support project changes, repairs, and redesigns as needed
• Maintain design quality while managing multiple projects and deadlines

Skills & Experience
• Senior-level truss design experience required (JobLine skills evaluation)
• Strong proficiency with MiTek software preferred (equivalent experience considered)
• Experience with roof trusses, floor trusses, and framing components
• Wall panel experience is a Major Plus!
• Solid understanding of building codes, engineering coordination, and manufacturing workflows
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Strong proficiency with MiTek software preferred (equivalent experience considered)

Software & Proficiency

Education & Training

Experienced in whole house design or wall panel design is a major plus.
