Overview
We are assisting a well established construction and building materials company that is launching a new truss manufacturing division. This is a ground floor opportunity for a Senior Truss Designer to play a key role in building design standards, workflow, and long term growth for a new operation backed by a financially stable organization with decades of industry experience.
This position is primarily focused on large scale multi family projects, with some light commercial and quick service restaurant work. This is an in office role and is not available as a remote position.

Job Duties
• Design roof and floor truss systems for mega multi family and light commercial projects
• Prepare layouts, engineering, and production documents
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, project managers, and production teams
• Review loads, codes, and design criteria to ensure compliance, and identify design and manufacturing issues
• Support production and field teams with design clarification and problem resolution
• Contribute to the development of design standards and best practices for a startup operation for an established company
• Prepare layouts, engineering, and production documents
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, project managers, and production teams
• Review loads, codes, and design criteria to ensure compliance, and identify design and manufacturing issues
• Support production and field teams with design clarification and problem resolution
• Contribute to the development of design standards and best practices for a startup operation for an established company
Skills & Experience
• Five or more years of truss design experience
• Strong background in mega-multifamily truss design
• Ability to manage complex projects, multiple projects, and multiple deadlines
• Excellent blueprint reading and load path understanding
• Knowledge of building codes and industry design standards
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Strong background in mega-multifamily truss design

Software & Proficiency
• Alpine software experience preferred
• Bluebeam
