# About the Company: Our client is a small but growing truss and engineered wood product (EWP) manufacturer specializing in agricultural, single-family, and light commercial projects. They have consistently filled their production capacity during peak season and are now adding 40% more capacity. Much of this increase is dedicated to new sales efforts

# Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Outside Salesperson with Truss Design and Estimating Skills to join our client’s team. This hybrid role combines technical design expertise with sales leadership to build relationships, expand the client base, and drive revenue growth.

The company is expanding from $5M to $10M annual capacity within the next six months, and they need someone who can sell into that expanded capacity. If you are driven, knowledgeable, and able to connect with lumberyards, contractors, and builders, this is a rare opportunity to make a direct impact.

Job Duties

### Design & Estimating

• Create truss designs, layouts, and material take-offs.
• Perform accurate estimates for residential, agricultural, and light commercial projects.
• Collaborate with production and shipping teams for project accuracy.
• Coordinate with design staff who will complete design process while you focus on sales. 

### Sales & Business Development

• Develop new customers and manage existing relationships.
• Identify and pursue projects within the market area.
• Track and report activity on current and upcoming projects.
• Present solutions and competitive advantages to customers.

Skills & Experience

Experience: Minimum 3 years in the truss or building components industry (will consider qualified “move-up” candidates).
Technical Skills: Truss design software (Alpine or equivalent), blueprint reading, estimating.
General Skills: Clear written and verbal communication, self-motivated, strong organizational skills, general computer proficiency (Word, Excel, data entry).
Industry Knowledge: Floor and roof trusses, I-joists, EWP; markets include lumberyards, contractors, owner/builders, tract and custom homes, and light commercial projects.

Software & Proficiency

• Alpine or equal experience
• Microsoft Office applications
• CRM software

Education & Training

HS Graduate or some college preferred.

Additional Details

Must have strong communications skills, both oral and written. The focus of this job is building a client base, primarily in the AG sector, but opportunities exist for Single Family and Light Commercial, Townhouses, Storefronts, and other projects.
